Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 3, 2025
Pinoy Retro Geek (“we,” “us,” or “our”) publishes reviews and guides about phone cases, MagSafe gear, bags, and everyday carry. This Privacy Policy describes how information is handled when you visit pinoyrnetrogeek.com (the “Site”), read articles, click outbound links, or email us.
By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to visitors and readers of the Site, including people who browse on phones, tablets, or desktops, and anyone who contacts us by email. It does not cover websites we link to — merchant stores, MagSafe accessory brands, affiliate networks, social platforms, or payment processors — once you leave our pages.
Information we collect
Information you send us
When you email contact@pinoyrnetrogeek.com, we receive whatever you include: your address, optional name or signature, message body, and any attachments or article URLs you paste. We use that material to reply, fix factual errors, evaluate product pitches, or handle privacy requests.
We do not require an account to read the Site. We do not run a public comment system that stores display names on our servers as part of this policy’s default setup.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting, CDN, and related tools may record technical data when your browser loads a page, for example:
- IP address and approximate region derived from it
- Browser type, version, language, and device or OS signals
- Pages viewed, timestamps, referring URL, and rough session path
- Error logs and basic security / abuse signals
We use this class of data to keep the Site online, understand which case guides and MagSafe reviews get read, diagnose broken layouts, and reduce spam or attacks.
Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
The Site may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies for:
- Remembering basic preferences (for example display or consent-related settings where present)
- Measuring traffic and engagement on articles and category pages
- Supporting advertising or affiliate partners after you interact with certain links
- Improving page performance and caching
You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how some features behave. Third-party tools we load may set their own cookies under their policies.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site and its content layout
- See which phone-case, MagSafe, review, and buying-guide pages readers open
- Respond to tips, corrections, and brand or sample pitches
- Measure whether affiliate or partner links are working as intended
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of use where applicable
- Investigate suspected abuse, scraping, or technical incidents
We do not sell your email address as a mailing list. We do not use reader mail to build a public directory of contacts.
Affiliate links, advertising, and outbound clicks
Some articles include affiliate or commercial links to merchants and networks. If you click those links, the destination site or network may collect its own data (including cookies and purchase attribution). That collection is governed by their privacy policies, not this one.
We may receive aggregated reports (for example that a click or sale was attributed to our Site) without receiving your payment card details. Those reports help us understand which product recommendations readers actually follow.
Display advertising partners, when used, may process device and browsing signals to show or measure ads. You can often limit interest-based advertising through your browser, device settings, or industry opt-out tools available in your region.
Who we share information with
We may share information with service providers that help us run the Site, such as:
- Web hosting and content delivery networks
- Analytics or performance measurement tools
- Email infrastructure used to receive or reply to messages
- Affiliate networks and advertising technology partners
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) when needed
These parties should process data only as needed to provide their services, subject to their own terms and applicable law. We may also disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, court order, or government request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pinoy Retro Geek, our readers, or the public; or in connection with a merger, asset sale, or similar business transfer (in which case this policy or a successor notice would continue to apply to the transferred data where required).
International visitors
The Site is aimed at a general English-reading audience and may be hosted or backed by infrastructure in more than one country. If you access the Site from outside the country where our servers or providers operate, your information may be processed in those other locations. Where local law gives you specific rights over personal data, you may exercise them as described in “Your choices and rights” below.
Children
The Site is written for a general adult audience interested in phones, cases, and carry gear. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Retention
Server and analytics logs are typically kept for a limited operational window (often weeks to months, depending on the provider) unless a longer period is needed for security or legal reasons. Email correspondence is kept as long as it remains useful for support, corrections, disputes, or legal compliance, then deleted or archived with reduced access when practical.
Security
We take reasonable administrative and technical steps to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. No website, email system, or internet transmission is completely secure. Please use judgment when sending sensitive personal or financial details by email — we do not ask for payment card numbers through the contact inbox.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email contact@pinoyrnetrogeek.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line and enough detail for us to locate your data (for example the address you used to write us). We may need to verify your identity before acting. Some logs held only by third-party hosts or analytics vendors may need to be handled through those vendors’ tools as well.
You can also:
- Stop browsing the Site
- Clear cookies and site data in your browser
- Use private browsing modes or tracking-protection features
- Opt out of certain interest-based ads where your region provides that option
Do Not Track (DNT) signals are not interpreted uniformly across the industry; we do not currently change Site behavior solely because a DNT header is present.
Links to other sites
Reviews and buying guides often link to manufacturer pages, retailers, MagSafe accessory makers, and social or video platforms. Once you follow those links, their privacy practices apply. We are not responsible for the content or data practices of third-party sites.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, tools, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when we publish a change. Material updates may also be noted on this page. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
